#1 Wash Skin Twice a Day 

Don’t wash skin too much, Twice a day or less should be a perfect amount. Once in the morning, and once at the end of your day. Use a clean washcloth, warm water and a mild soap or cleanser. This simple regimen will be effective at ridding your skin of dust, dirt, dead skin cells and bacteria. When trying to stop picking consider makeup as a acne starter. Makeup alone doesn’t necessarily cause breakouts, but it certainly doesn’t help. In some cases, people may notice a significant increase in facial blemishes when wearing a certain brand or type of makeup. If this is the case, switch brands or select products labeled “oil-free” or “noncomedogenic.” Regardless of what type of makeup a person wears, the person always needs to wash it off. Leaving makeup on overnight is a good way to wake up to some pimples that will need to be covered up with more makeup again. #5 Go to the beach or just get some sun

Ideally it would be good for the skin picking sufferer to submerged their skin in the ocean salt water. If you don’t have access to an ocean try soaking the body part with the acne in sea salt or Epsom salt for about 10 minutes. Sit in the sun for 10-30 minutes. The sun will dry out the pimples. Do not do this for long periods of time though because if you get burnt, it will make your acne a lot worse. Repeat this process a few times more and you will notice results within the first two days. #6 Make a natural exfoliating scrub

This will help remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and cause breakouts.

Stop Picking Exfoliating Scrub Easy As A-B-C:

    1. Squeeze one grapefruit into a bowl
    2. Mix with 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
    3. and 1/2 cup of coarse sea salt.

Massage into the affected areas, then pat dry.

#7 Diet 

Although, many may have read or been told that acne and diet are not related, they are. If a person fuels their body with bad foods then their body will react poorly. Not only will  they feel sluggish and tired from eating poorly but their cells will be affected. In order to get rid of acne the skin picker has to keep their cells happy and healthy. #8 Sleep 

Finally, we all know it matters but we continue to deprive ourselves of sleep. But this may be the most important thing out of the whole list. When the skin picker goes to sleep it gives their body time to repair itself. When they don’t get enough sleep thier body has less time to fix itself up and this may result in acne. So when trying to stop picking all a skin picker really needs to do is, get more sleep and try to go to bed at a regular schedules. Try to make sure you are not eating before you go to bed especially processed foods. Also a technique that has been around for a while is sleeping in 90min increments. #9 Don’t Allow Yourself  To Get Stressed and Anxious 

Don’t forget that taking care of the outside wont heal the inside. If you are constantly struggling with acne, and also you eat poorly and don’t wash your face properly and have lots of stress and anxiety you will get acne. If you want to get rid of acne you need to change how you react to problems. Stop Picking By First Making Sure Your Allowing Wounds To Heal Correctly


Here are some tips that help heal wounds and moisturize skin and help stop picking naturally:

Clean your cut with hydrogen peroxide

To reduce the risk of infection. A person can also clean cut with salt- water (which does burn), or a triple anti-bacterial ointment or cream.


Apply natural Aloe-Vera gel

This helps to moisturize and heal the cut faster.

Apply witch-hazel twice daily

Use a pharmacy variety that comes in a bottle. The skin picker can do this by applying it to cotton and dabbing it on the cuts, or for smaller cuts put a little witch hazel onto the absorbent cotton area of a band aid and place it over the cut.

Take Vitamin E capsules - As this will support the healing process of the cut. For most cuts and grazes, they will just need to cover it up with a bandage.

    • Hi Hope,

      I know how bad things can be when you don’t feel like your making any progress. All you need to do is get the ball rolling and you will get through this.

      At first you really need to ask yourself if there are things in your diet that are causing acne that you then pick at, or are you getting a urge to pick clean and clear skin?

      Then if you pick due to “acne” or “compulsive urge” the first place to start is diet.

      If you pick due to acne and the way you look, it is more about overcoming worry, and what people think of you. If you pick due to physical urges then you are going to want to detox as well as change to whole food healthy diet and use meditation with proper mineral supplementation.

      So lets say for example you have acne.
      You really want to first find the reason why you feel the need to get rid of the pimples… Is it because you are afraid of what people will say… or worried that people are looking etc.

      Then if you are worried about what people say, try to use that as a reminder and motivation to start cutting back on one main thing that you feel might be causing the acne, such as sodas, lots of sugar( High fructose corn-syrup products,diet or sugar free/artificial sweetener products, greasy fast food etc.)

      Try getting rid of as much of it as you can. Drink a lot of clean reverse osmosis water that you can fill up at most grocery stores.

      Then start to get rid of a lot of cosmetic products that clog pores and are not good for the skin as well as face cleaners and acne solutions which make matters worse and are not good for your skin as well. Don’t use bar soap to wash your face as it dries it out and can make you want to pick. Try washing your face in natural cleansers like Epsom salt water or mineral mud etc.

      Try to eat a lot more fruits and vegetables. Anything with a fancy package is most likely bad for you and is going to cause acne so watch out for those. Try to shop as much as you can in places that have organic produce and meats… All the GMO hormones and GMO corn syrup are usually hidden with a colorful well marketed packaging that usually cost more to produce than the stuff in it. These GMO type foods and drinks cause many problems and is a main factor in acne and much much worse things.

      Also if you find that you just touch your face a lot start trying to find the times that you touch your face and then start to find out ways to curb that whenever you can.

      For example: if you are stressed if you get off work and you have some acne your going to usually want to touch your face so doing something like working out or meditating at that time will help the most. then try wearing face masks that help the skin and work your hardest not to touch your face and feeling the face mask will remind you not to touch your face.

      Also look into all your activities that you do daily and see if there is anything that is taking too much of your time, that is not allowing you enough time to take care of yourself, start cutting unnecessary things from your life that are stealing your time.

      First off thank you for stopping by and thank you for your kind words. I have 4 different natural remedies that myself and others have used with great results…


      This one is a mixture:

      topically applying the following works to significantly reduce scaring:

      Mix together in a small bowl: the bigger the scar the more you will need to make.

      - aloe vera gel (1-tsp)
      - lemon juice (2-tsp)
      - honey (1-tsp)
      - vitamin e oil or capsule
      - cucumber juice (2-tsp)
      (leave it on for 15 minutes and wash off with cold water)

      Make a paste of equal parts salt, baking soda, lemon juice, and honey. Leave on scars for 15 minutes and wash off with cold water.

      Drink coffee a couple times a week
      with 1 tblspoon blackstrap molasses.
      Until scaring starts to reduce.


      Take a couple of teaspoons of Apple cider vinegar daily and it will reduce the scaring as well.
